Missing WiFi

I am staying in an AirBnb in France for a month and the host lied about having WiFi. I made sure to message the host before booking to make sure he has good WiFi because my job and income depends on it and he assured me that there was.

I got in contact with the host on arrival and he told me that there MIGHT be someone there in the next week or so with a new box for the WiFi and I should wait around the apartment IF he comes.

What should I do?

There were other amenities missing and the place was dirty but that really doesn't bother me. It's the fact that he lied about having WiFi and now I cannot work in apartment.

@Sean1264 contact Airbnb, explain that the missing amenity is essential to you and ask them to cancel the reservation and refund you for nights not stayed. You will, of course, need to find another place to stay.

Thanks for your reply.

There's nowhere close that's available on my budget.

The only place where I can work with an internet connection is a "coworking space" but it costs 150€ for the month. Should I ask the host to reimburse me for this or is that out of order?

Thanks

@Sean1264 I have no idea how much you have paid for the stay but it sounds fair to ask the host for this.

Ok thanks for your help

Hello I am a Superhost here in Florida. This is unacceptable. Call Airbnb, tell them that you need Wifi for work. You must provide proof to Airbnb that he told you that there is Internet ( pictures of text messages) or that it is written in his description. Proof that you have no internet. Airbnb then will  hopefully provide you with a new accommodation.  Just call the hotline Airbnb. Good luck. Nicole

Hi Nicole, thanks for replying. The only accommodation that is available is €1000 more then what I paid for my current Airbnb. They would hardly pay for thatuch more?
