NO HOST CUSTOMER SERVICE

Because of COVID our local Government did not allow Short Term Rentals.  Any reservation that was made in this period, needed to be cancelled by Guest because we were not legally allowed to host.

 

Airbnb has blocked all these cancellations and Penalized us, the Host.  There is NO ONE to discuss this with,   NO one calls back.  We are losing Money and there is no care at all.  Time to look at the competition and move my 14 suites.

What do you mean by Airbnb blocked all cancellations @Laurel128 ? How did Airbnb make you lose money if your local government had blocked STRs in your area? If there was a ban in your area, you wouldn't have been able to take bookings through any channel surely?

 

I am not sure why you felt all the reservations had to be cancelled by the guest under the EC policy for the virus, I cancelled quite a few of my bookings where Airbnb allowed hosts to cancel penalty free because of the virus.

 

Absolutely I agree STR businesses like yours shouldn't be reliant on one marketing channel. If Airbnb isn't working for you in terms of how it operates; use some of the other relevant STR marketing channels out there plus direct bookings.
