New Host Guest ID

New to being a host of an entire house in Ontario Canada.

I was little quick to confirm a reservation and noticed my booking guest has only 1 review and no information about herself and the other guests do not have AirBnB accounts so they aren't verified in any way. When I asked the booking guest about the other guests, she said one was 21 and the others 24. My concern is I can't verify the other guests and I'm hesitant to allow such a young crowd wiht no ID verification. Also, I checked for any social media presence of the booking guest and there is nothing (FB, LinkedIn. etc...). My gut says cancel but then I will be penalized by AirBnB. I've since edited my House Rules to reflect ID of all guests required but I'm still stuck with this booking dilemma. Any insight would be welcome! Thanks

If you only want to accept guests with previous reviews then set your listing so only those with previous reviews can book. @David7347

why are you rushing to cancel?

why not message the guest ask her to complete her profile, ask her why she chose your place and plans for her stay.

ask her to confirm she has read your house rules around no parties, additional guests and quiet times (presume you have these)

based on her responses you can make a decision

Thanks for your response 🙂 My concern is not knowing ANY information from the other guests. She does not seem to want to pass that along. And the age category...given under 25s can't book a house. It's like shes booking the house for them because they can't on their own....obviously this raises flags...

What information do you want?

hosts normally don’t receive information about the others guests when a booking is made.

you have the right to ask who’s travelling with her i.e. Family, friends etc

I think you would benefit from reading up more about how Airbnb works - the Airbnb Help website is good for the basics around how Airbnb works.

Anyone over 18 can book an Airbnb you don’t have to be over 25 (unless you are booking a local home for a short stay and have less than three reviews).

Your comment about your 21 year guest booking on behalf of others makes no sense if you believe only over 25s can book.

what information are you asking her to pass on about the other guests what you feel she is reluctant to pass on? You can’t ask for names/ID of other guests if this wasn’t in your house rules when she booked.
