New Pet Fee - What?

The Powers that be have decided:

It [the Pet Fee] is included as part of your nightly price, spread out equally over the course of a guest’s stay. It will also be included in the total price at checkout, not as a separate fee.

How asinine.  A pet fee is a Pet Fee -- not a fee meted by the number of nights a pet is staying.  I use the Pet Fee to pay housekeeping for the yard waste pickup, extra vacuuming, shampooing or changing out rugs, etc.  The amout of this fee does not enlarge or diminish over the course of the days rented.

How many guests are going to be looking for the Pet Fee in their bill?  EVERY ONE OF THEM.  So show them that they have selected and paid a Pet Fee.

ALSO, in my jurisdiction, all fees and charges have to be DISCLOSED and DEFINED at booking, not HIDDEN in the math.

It hasn’t even shown up as an option available on any of my listings… however, I agree this is dumb..

on my listings it now actually says Pets Stay Free under Pricing and Availability and does not allow me to Edit even though it shows an Edit button however it is blurred/not clickable. And yes I have my pet fees in House Rules but many guests claim not to see it. This is just adding more confusion.
