New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca  and @Sophia and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Sophia : Born and bred in the UK 🇬🇧 but my roots are Bangladeshi 🇧🇩. I love cats 🐱, enjoy eating crisps (also known as chips) and enjoy baking 🍪. I also love travelling ✈️  I have worked in Community ever since I graduated and to put it lightly, people are my passion! 💖

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards,

Bhumika

Hi @Michael9031 👋

WOW! Your place sounds amazing! I have a jungle garden too and often leave it to fend for itself. It's my goal to have huge tall plants and lots of green!

Fantastic to have a producer of film here! Thanks so much for introducing yourself. Hopefully you'll be able to share knowledge from your last 10 years of hosting! 🤗

Feel free to start a conversation and ask any questions or share any experience you may have!  😊

Hi Everyone,

My name is Cassandra and I started hosting this month.  So far so good. I had my first cancelation today... and I m trusting there will be very few of those.

I am originally from Jamaica and live and host in the GTA Toronto. I am looking forward to being a part of this community and Learning the platform properly. For example, sometimes I see a message on the air bnb icon but can't find where it is because it is not in my inbox. Then I stumble on it somewhere else.

Looking forward to co-learning, sharing and growing in the business.

Hi @Cassandra374 👋

A huge welcome to the Community Center! It's great to have you here with us. You've come to the right place as we're here to support you and a great question there about messages. I'm 100% sure the other Hosts will be able to support you with this.  Feel free to start a conversation😊

Thank you Rebecca.

Two questions:

1). Sometimes I see a message on the air bnb icon but can't find where it is because it is not in my inbox. Then I stumble on it somewhere else.  How can I easily access my messages wherever they are posted?

2). I see that I am now level 2. What are the criteria for moving up the levels?

Hello my name is Maria. My partner Innis and We have just begun our (already exciting!) AirBnb journey. Just this week we listed our first property, a charming 4bd/3 ba cabin in the luxurious and first class community of Lake Arrowhead, California.

Hoping to learn a lot from those who’ve been doing this awhile. We‘d like to have guests come to the Lake and enjoy our tree top cabin as their home base.

We’ve already booked our just-remodeled cabin 3 times next month and we’ve already learned a lot too!

Eventually we’d like to own several AirBnB properties, have them run efficiently while we are off on some adventure around the world.

Thank you in advance for all the valuable lessons you’re sharing.

Sincerely,

Maria

Hi @Maria21526 , Welcome to the Community and so excited to hear from you! 😍

It's great to hear that you're already booked for the upcoming months and must be thrilled to welcome your guests 😉 Would you like to share your experiences so far and highlight some of the key lessons you’ve learned?

If you have any questions related to welcoming guests, please feel free to start a new conversation with other Hosts asking how they welcome guests to their listing! Are you going to welcome your guests in-person or share check-in instructions with them virtually?

We have an amazing topic from one of the Host Laurelle about welcoming guests. I wanted to share it here if you wanted to give it a go : Welcoming guests and the gift of giving. Do let us know how you think of it!

Wishing you all the best! 🌻

Hi @Diana2799 , Welcome to the Community 🌻 Congratulations on listing your beautiful home with Airbnb. Wishing you all the best for your hosting journey 😍

How does it feel to transition from guests to Hosts on Airbnb ? 😉 Do you recall any hospitality gestures from your own experiences as a guest,  that you plan to implement as a Host? 🤔

What amenities you've made sure to add to your listing based on your own guest experiences?

So nice to hear that you're already into management services and look into expanding your business. Wishing you all the best with that! 🌻

Do you have any hosting tips that you'd like to share with the new Hosts visiting us? 😊

On a side note, Have you had a chance to explore Airbnb's Co-host platform? If not, you can do so by following this link: https://www.airbnb.ca/e/local-partners.

Hi everyone, nice to meet you and great that there is a platform to bring people together.

I have been hosting now for 2 years in Duffel, Belgium. The apartment is close to nature and it has been a great experience to be able to offer it for people to spend their weekends or just to stop on their way through Europe.

At this point I am looking for possibilities to start co-hosting with other people. If anyone has suggestions on how to start doing this, I am all ear!

All the best,

Elina
