Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula and @Rebecca   and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe. 

@Bhumika :  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

Hello! My name is Francesca and I am a new host as of last weekend for our home in Jacksonville, FL! My husband and I have relocated to NY to have our baby and want to make our home a summer experience for others to enjoy! 

I have two pups that I love dearly and really enjoy interior decorating and DYI home improvements. I recently got into woodworking a bit and would love to one day have my own workshop to build furniture. 

Excited to get started in our AirBnB hosting journey!

Hi, My name is Leah,

I am on the NSW Central Coast of Australia. My husband and I have just started hosting a garden flat that we had built for my late mother-in-law.

We chose Airbnb because, after 17 years of having someone live with us permanently, we want a break but need the income of a rental. 

So far we have been pretty happy with the 2 months of hosting. 

We have had the nicest guests until the last one, who was in pain from an accident and menopausal. 

She gave me first 4 star, even though they gave us 5 in every section and a great review.

I am just concerned if that impacts much. Does it impact the speed of payments and my algorithm?

Regarding the impact of ratings, it would be a good idea to start a conversation with experienced Hosts in the Community , so that they can help you by sharing their experience and insights 😊 

Are there any strategies you're considering to maintain high ratings and continue attracting great guests?

I am confident we will get 5 stars again and will get those that never give them.

hello!  I have just finished hosting our very first guest and are on our second booking.  It is a little surprising how much I enjoy providing a comfortable and clean accommodations to our travelers.  At first we signed up for the extra income from our basement apartment.  Now that we actually have guest, my focus has changed to making our place a great stay for the guest.

Hi My name is Maggie ! I’ve been a super host in Laguna Beach Ca for  9 years 🤩. I love and  greatly enjoy hosting. 
I  love personalizing my guest stays. Anniversaries birthday days all occasions and when small children visit I try to provide sand toys. It’s fun to surprise my guests  with that special touch.

thank you ! I love pleasing.  I  place myself as the guest and think of things that would please me😊. 
I’ve been told that I’m high maintenance, I must agree 🙄… however, this is beneficial to my guests because I give what I’d expected.
Unfortunately my expectations  haven’t been met by any Airbnb host.
I don’t this my expectations are unrealistic 😊

I make my home their home.

My name is Delia and I am happy to have been welcomed into the community. I am originally from Saint Lucia. Migrated to the US and have been there for 29 yrs. I came back to Saint Lucia to fulfill a dream my mom and I spoke about for years until she passed in 2012. Built this beautiful home in her honor knowing that her dream became a reality.
