Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca and @Elisa and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Bhumika
Greetings Everyone! My name is Patricia and I'm from Berkeley, CA. I have my first listing up and running for a few months now and it is going great! I've had wonderful guest so far and have only positive things to say about hosting. I'm thrilled to be a part of this community.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far.
Welcome to the Airbnb Community Center! It's fantastic to hear that your hosting experience has been going great and that you've had wonderful guests. Being part of this community is indeed something to be thrilled about. ๐
As summer is in full swing, I'm curious to know if you've incorporated any special summer-themed touches or activities for your guests?
Wishing you continued success with your hosting journey! โ๏ธ
I haven't incorporated any summer-themed touches. I'm close to the university here in Berkeley so most of my guests are people connected to the school such as new students, visiting parents or professors. I do provide a lot of details about things to do in the area which is limitless in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm curious to read about what others do to make their guests stay special.
Hello, My name is Kristine. I am originally from Boise ID and recently moved to a remote ranch in OR. I joined my partner who has been living here and running his cattle ranch for over 30 years. He added me as a co host to his Airbnb and I have loved the experiences and people that have passes through just in the last few months of my arrival. We are both very new to this endeavor and are seeking other like minded people to aske question and bounce ideas off of.
Hi @Kristine353 ๐
Welcome to the Airbnb hosting community! It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying your hosting experiences so far. It must be a unique and beautiful setting for guests. feel free to share some pictures with us!
Connecting with like-minded hosts is a great idea for learning and exchanging ideas. Have you explored much on the Community Center yet? Here's some boards to get you started:
โจ Ask about your listing - You can ask other Hosts to critique your listing, you could be pleasantly surprised at what other people see!
โจ Advice on your space - This is great for general questions about your space specifically, for example, the amenities that you have at the property to what types of sheets that you use.
Wishing you and your partner continued success in your new hosting endeavour! ๐พ๐ก

Hello! I'm Pamela from Cancun Mexico, I really enjoy the beach, time with my family and having fun with friends.
I teach at the secondary level.
The accommodation is ideal for spending time with family or friends and is in a very quiet area and close to the airport.
Hi My name is Robert. I am a traveler and use airbnb sometimes when I do. I also am an investor and I own a few houses that are airbnbs managed by various managers, just starting to explore self-managing and my son is helping out as well with some of my listings at this time.
Hi @Robert8378 ๐
It's great to meet you! As both a traveler and an investor with multiple Airbnb properties, you must have a wealth of experience in the hosting world. What made you decide to explore self-managing your properties? And how has the transition been so far with your son helping out? Feel free to share any insights or tips you've learned along the way. Happy hosting and safe travels! โจ๐
Hi @Pamela1470 ๐
It's great to meet you! Cancun sounds like a wonderful place to live and host guests, especially being close to the beach and the airport. As a teacher and a host, how do you manage your time between your teaching responsibilities and hosting? Do you have any tips or strategies for balancing both? Wishing you and your guests memorable moments and lots of fun in Cancun! ๐ด๐
Hi Pamela. Your place sounds great. I really enjoy Cancun, it's a stunning destination. How complicated is it to get into the Airbnb space in your area? I only have 1 Airbnb right now but I'd definitely be interested in learning about hosting in places outside of the US that I would enjoy visiting.
Hello there everyone. My name is Nikki, I've been hosting my 2 br, 2 ba in West Sacramento, CA for about 8 months. Looking forward to scrolling the topics and learning what I can.
Hello @Nikki584, thank you so much for sharing your introduction, and congratulations on achieving Superhost status ๐ค
How has your experience been so far? How is this season shaping up for you? Is it a vibrant or calm hosting period?
Keep us posted ๐
Hi @Paula and thank you, especially for that link.
So far, hosting has been great. My first few months were focused on learning and ensuring I have things in place to provide a consistent and welcoming experience for my guests. Now I'm making a shift towards growth and booking consistency.
I'm coming out of a vibrant period and instantly found myself in a calm. This is how it's been since I started. One month I will be booked solid and then things go silent and I'll go several weeks without even getting an inquiry. I'm not sure if it's my location or something else. I'm reading though the comments on the link you provided but I'd like to ask the question here "what are some tricks to keeping your place booked up consistently? "
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. It is a pleasure to join this community and looking forward to connecting with you all. Feel free to yell out if any one else is in Melbourne and would like to catch up somewhere.
