New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here โ€Œ๐Ÿ‘‡

Hello everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the Community Center! ๐Ÿ‘‹  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula and @Rebecca   and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐Ÿšฒ, playing footballโšฝ, and travelling๐ŸŒ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika ๐ŸŒ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ last year! ๐Ÿ“ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ŸŒ† When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐Ÿ’ƒ) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ŸŒŽ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐Ÿšฒ and hiking ๐Ÿ”.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ŸŒฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ŸŒŽ as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming ๐ŸŒŠ yoga on the beach ๐Ÿง˜โ€ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards,

Bhumika

Hi @Kansas0 , Welcome to the Community! ๐ŸŒป

With your professional background, you must be bringing in a lot of attention to details to create memorable guest stays. Do you have any tips to share with other Hosts? What inspired you to start co-hosting on Airbnb?

Hello! I live in the North Carolina mountains, USA, a slice of Appalachia and Cherokee native land. My husband and I run a school for outdoor professionals, so we've been hosting faculty and students for decades. Recently we thought we'd host our cabin/faculty house when we didn't have any courses running, since we are surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Tuskaseigee River (fly fishing, kayaking, tubing, rafting), Cherokee and casinos, Asheville and the Biltmore House, the Blue Ridge Parkway - something for everyone!

It has been a very fun side adventure, and we are loving our guests and continually fixing our cabin space to suit more people. I've been surprised how quickly our vacancies have filled!

Hello @Mairi45,

Wow, that was a fantastic idea! I'm so glad to hear it's been working well for you ๐Ÿ˜Ž

If you could offer one piece of advice to new Hosts for achieving success, what would it be?

I look forward to learning from your experience! ๐ŸŒป

Best regards,

Be prepared to be flexible, but also identify your dealbreakers. I rarely accept a last-minute request because I donโ€™t want to be rushed or have to change my plans to get the cabin ready. But I constantly observe how my guests use our cabin and tailor it to their interests. I am regularly updating photos if I move furniture or change bed coverings. I listen to my guests suggestions and decide how to incorporate them for future visits.

@Lauralie: I live in Murphy, North Carolina in the USA in a beautiful mountain cabin. Located in the Appalachian Mountains at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. My late husband and I retired and moved from Florida to our cabin 5 years ago. Since his passing I decided to keep it as an investment property and private vacation home.
My question is, although Iโ€™ve done a lot of work on my listing, itโ€™s not ready yet. Can someone confirm itโ€™s not posted please?

Hi Bhumika,

This is Tush and I am also from Gujarat. Used to serve as a professor and now managing educational institution here in Edmonton for last a few years. Traveling, meeting new people, exploring world culture, watching movies, reading, and playing music are some of the hobbies I have cultivated.

I would like to learn from everyone's experiences while managing my air bnb property.

Thanks again
