Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

Hello! Thanks so much for adding me to this space!
My name is Chelsea, and I have a lovely place in the Catskills that I have been lucky to share with visitors for a bit! I am, however, just starting to get momentum on hosting, and I would love to hear from folks who have been around for a while. Question: What does it mean to be a "level 1" host?
Hi @Chelsea566 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center!
Congratulations on reaching level 2! ๐ What inspired you to become a host?
Itโs so lovely to see that you're curious about how levels work in our Community.
Levels reflect how much a user actively contributes to the Community Center and several factors contribute to reaching higher levels.
The more constructively you help the community, hosts, and guests, the higher your level can go. It's not just about the number of replies, but also things like the number of likes you receive, the best answers you've marked, and having your comments marked as best answers/solutions by others. It also includes the number of posts or conversations you create to help other hosts and guests.
I hope this explanation helps!
Warm regards ๐ป,

Hi, My Name Is Brian! I just joined Airbnb As a Host for the experience and oh boy let me say that I don't regret it any at all. Looking forward to continue doing Airbnb in my home country Belize!
Hi @Brian3564 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center!
Thank you for sharing such great feedback here! ๐
What do you like the most about this experience?
Warm regards ๐ป,

My name is Dilraj! Iโm from Ontario, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ and grew up here my whole life.
I didnโt plan to be a Super Hostโฆ in fact, I was against the whole idea of renting and hosting.
But, Iโve taken inspiration from a book called โPattern Languageโ by Christopher Alexander. The architect emphasizes the idea of homes being able to โhealโ and how beauty is very much connected to our well-being and happiness.
I want to host a space where people can feel more alive despite their circumstances!
Hello @Dilraj3
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It's lovely to hear where people draw inspiration from!
How long have you been hosting for?
Exactly a year! I had my first booking with a young man from Tunisia ๐น๐ณ! He moved back to his home country, but we still keep in touch!
I'm Casey. I moved to Orlando from Atlanta in 2020 and bought my house in 2023. I love it here!
I started renting my spare bedroom at the end of December 2024 and just earned Superhost status!
I love hosting guests in my home. It feels like they are friends and family. I've made some lasting relationships and already have some regulars. Plus, I get to share tips and suggestions for things to do in the city I love.
I only wish I had started hosting sooner!
Hello @Casey464 ๐
Huge congratulations on becoming a Superhost! You must be over the moon!
It sounds like you've had a wonderful time hosting guests -and now friends) in your home. How do you find the balance when living in with guests?
Honestly, I just do my thing! I often have guests arrive for the weekends. I am always here to greet them and introduce them to my dog. But then I will go out and have fun with my friends.
I think my guests feel more comfortable knowing that I trust them in the home when I'm not here. And if they come home before me, a lot of them will even take my dog out for me!
I have also been honored to have many guests cook for me, bring me food, and give me gifts. Hosting in my home rocks!
Hi All,
I'm Jorge a native south American guy that had the opportunity to leave in different countries.
Now I based in Boston a city known as the Athens of USA.
I started with airbnb years ago and in different countries.
I enjoy hosting people, I made good friends with whom I'm in continues contact .
Welcome to the Community Center! It's wonderful to have you here with us @Jorge-E56 ๐
It sounds like you've been to quite a few countries - where have you hosted previously?
Hello, I'm Angie. I joined Airbnb about a year ago and have been fortunate enough to be a SuperHost twice in a row. I decided to start hosting because Iโm not always able to be at our second home, and it provides an opportunity to earn extra income to support my family and help build a real estate portfolio for our children. The Airbnb community has been wonderful, and I'm so glad I made the decision to join!
Hello @LandA-Dream-Stays0 ๐

How has your hosting journey been so far this past year?
So far it has been great, thank you for asking!!
