Not a secured apartment, and Airbnb does not repairs. What should I do?

Hi guys,

not sure if anyone has experienced this. I am currently staying in one of the Airbnb that I booked in Japan for 4 nights. During the first night of my staying, I realised the locking device for the balcony door is broken and the door can not be locked, since we are on ground floor, any one could come in from the balcony.  It felt so unsafe, just like the front door does not have a lock. I contacted the host, she sent a locksmith in the next night, but he left without fixing anything. The host claimed she needs to get in contact with the management to fix the door. I tried to contact airbnb to report the issue and seek for advice,  however, I have not heard anything from Airbnb for the last 3 days. What should I do now, it seems that i won’t get any help from both side of the party.  Should I just suck it up and live in this unsecured apartment?!

@Alex6408  It sounds like you are in the third day of a four night booking, so I'm not sure there's much more that can be done for you. If you'd like to leave this place 1 night early due to the safety concerns, you should be eligible to have the cost of that unused night refunded. For time sensitive issues like these, the best way to reach Airbnb is by phone.
