Owner wants to sell and have house showings

Our family is staying in an air b/b for a month before we can move into our new home. We rented a house and within the second day of living there (unpacking with small 3 kids and dog) she tells us she is putting it up for sale. Since then her stories have changed and she is asking more and more from me. Wanting showings for 5 straight hours during the day, I’m getting text messages regarding the scheduled times all day, and I’m asked to leave a house we paid for. I don’t feel like this is right. Do I have any rights? We are moving out in 2 days....does she have the right to show the home while we are now trying to move out? Any insight would be appreciated.

Unfortunately air B and B has not been very helpful. After talking repeatedly on the phone, they were sympathetic, promising to call us back after speaking with owner. They have not called back. Meanwhile the realtor is threating us with calling the police. We know we have the right to stay, but it is causing so much distress and anxiety for myself and family that we had to check into a hotel instead of turn people away at the door every 20min. This has turned into a nightmare and I hope no one else ever has to experience this. I think we will eventually get some of our money back, but air B and B has not really helped us. @Dale711 @Sarah977

I am so sorry to hear that, a frustrated experience.

No”  the host do not have the right to ask you to leave because your reservation is till active.

Beside of that, you should never agree to open the door for other to visit the place.

 

You has paid and you have the right to stay, if the host asked  you leave, get Airbnb involved and she need to pay the extra fee to relocate you and refund the full payment to you. Beside of that, the host have no right to ask you to do any flavor, never and ever agree.


Do contact Airbnb Support Help Center immediately, “ Live Chat”with the team [ not a Airbnb bot ] that is someone always here to answer you within few minutes,  request the case manager to make the cancellation by host side, full refund to your cause of the inconvenience  and do relocate you to the new place immediately.

Airbnb is a trust and safety booking platform.
