Payment made for guest who didn't stay

I had a booking for one night a couple of days ago.. Unfortunately on the day he was to arrive, he phoned to say that his partner had taken ill. Very understandable.  On the say day it appears he made a request to take an alternative date in June, which I was glad to see.  However, when I completed the request on the AirBnB page indicating that I agreed to the change of dates, the system would not let me submit as it stated that the reservation was underway and I could not change it.  I have since been paid for his non-visit.  As an AirBnB newbie, can anyone advise what happens next?

A reservation can only be rescheduled if not already started.

As the reservation was also not cancelled by he guest, you received full payment (as if guest has stayed).

You can refund the guest manually (if desired) or offer some discount when guest books again.

But you are not obliged to do so, as it is the guests his responsibility to sent a change request in time (or cancel reservation).
