Price increase after early cancellation?

Hello! I have been staying at an Airbnb for over a month and have to leave early due to extenuating circumstances. I went to Airbnb to make the adjustment, and my price increased by over $1000! If anything, should my price not decrease, for freeing up the space early? This seems wrong, as it would be more financially sound to just leave, and not cancel at all. Let me know. Thanks!

@Jeremy679 call Airbnb and ask them to sort it out. If it truly comes under EC then you may get some money back.

If you are leaving on July 17,  the next 30 nights are non-refundable under long term booking arrangements - that would leave only August 16 - 21 refundable.

Prices can't be changed on a calendar, so no reasonable explanation to why the price would increase other than adjustments  made to monthly discounts kicking in, a call to service centre might be the best route.
