Production site

Hi, we have a renovated Airbnb in San Antonio and we’ve received several messages from people wanting to film at the house, or just use it to store their production equipment. Has anyone else received any messages like this?

@Sofy14 That is really strange. I should report this to Airbnb. And i certainly should not accept this kind of requests. It sounds like trouble. 🙂

I've often received requests to either film or take photos at the house and they were not suspect at all. Most of them got turned away though because they were expecting to film here for the same as the nightly room rate, which is insane. A lot of people try Airbnb to find cheap places because filming locations are usually very expensive to hire and I guess some hosts accept.

If it is something you are considering, there are a lot of questions to be asked first and you need to agree to a reasonable rate, which should be much higher than the Airbnb nightly rates. Do a search on the CC and you will find a couple of threads about this.

I have never been asked about storing equipment (other than from people who were also filming here). That sounds odd. However, they could be filming on location outdoors near to your listing, hence the need to store their kit somewhere.
