So we have this budget toasters in our apartments, I have one at my home, my daughter has it, my mother has it and we have the same one in our holiday home. We use it all the time for sandwiches and for toasting the bread 🙂
Our American guests said we should get a PROPER toaster !
I would like to know what the hell is it? Is it something like Mercedes among toasters? Does it bake the bread, make sandwitches and bring them to you in the bed? Does it babysit too ...? :)))
.
I think You're a little too much concerned about money and not so much about customer satisfaction.
Don't mess around with one or two slice private household Ikea bargain toasters, that's not what our guests want. Here's a 27 slice STR-toaster which should satisfy everybody. Always keep in mind: More people than booked may show up at check in and they may all want toast for breakfast.
@Branka-and-Silvia0, money isn't everything.
What counts in our business is the satisfaction of our valued airbnb-guests.
@Ute42 You're the queen of finding photos of overkill. I remember that photo of the giant bank of enormous amplifiers 🙂
.
Hi @Sarah ,
I didn't "find" this photo, I created it in Photoshop out of an ordinary 4 slice model.
Same with my listingphotos by the way. It's all assembled in Photoshop.
In reality my place looks terrible.
@Ute42 Well now I'm really impressed! But you didn't create that giant amplifier bank photo, right? That was actually set up somewhere?
.
Hi @Sarah977
no, I didn't create the giant speaker picture, but I modified it. You have to be careful when using pictures You find somewhere in the internet, as with google picture search photos can easily be found. I order to prevent copyright issues such a picture should always be modified in a way, that google pic search cannot find it.
I made a joke of course when I said that all my listingphotos are assembled in Photoshop and in reality my place looks terrible. I did remove unwanted parked cars from pictures though., that's not a problem in Photoshop.
uuuuu @Ute42 😄
" Our place is perfect for parties, we have a proper toaster you just bring a proper weed! " 😄 😄 😄
I’ve got one similar to this.
Dear everyone in this thread (wish there was a reply-all),
Thank you for one of the most fun conversations I've seen in the forums. How absolutely fascinating and educational.
Truly, I am gobsmacked that a coffee maker is a necessity in some parts of the world, and that what I've always thought of as a normal, everyday kettle is known elsewhere as an electric kettle. Who knew?
In South Africa, electricity is standard. Gas has started to become "a thing" for stoves, but I would guess that the vast majority of middle class Saffas power their homes, toasters, and kettles with electricity from the plugpoint in the wall. We don't have piped gas.
Coffee has taken off in a big way during the last five years especially, but Nespresso machines, moka pots, and Bodums (French press) are not standard kitchen items. There are plenty of popular artisan coffee places though.
Now you know, in case you're planning a trip to our fair shores. 🙂

I got the "Texas-Pocket-Toaster":
s**t... just... got... wierd.
@Branka-and-Silvia0 Wow... I wonder how would I react to such comment towards my toaster. I will figure out the new house rule for non-asked compliments maybe. In my case the guests will probably start peeing under the sofa because of fear soon. So, solving problem with toaster doesn't solve the problem of getting rid of stains.
