Replace existing reservation by another one (separate location) - service fee?
Hi there.
I made a reservation for a single room in Seattle for a few days in April (yes, way in advance). It turns out that a couple of friends just told me they are eager to come with me, which means that we need to book a full house. The existing reservation has a 'moderate policy' and this is advance planning, so no issue with the host fees, I'll get reimbursed and I hope the host will understand and find another guest.
It doesn't seem quite right that I would have to pay the Airbnb service fee twice though. Which is what would happen if I cancel the first reservation and book a new one for a full house.
Any way to avoid that? Thank you for your help.

You could call and plead with customer service, @Jerome236 . They might help you out.
Or you could get your friends to kick in on the extra fee, since they are the problem, so to speak.
There is no way to automatically have the service fee refunded.
