We made reservations months in advance and when we arrived to the unit, someone else was already staying there! Host says that Airbnb didn’t inform their booking platform of our stay. We were left with nowhere to stay in an area that’s difficult to find lodging in. The room we found was significantly more than our original booking and 25 minutes away in a different town. Should Airbnb be responsible for paying for all this? They confirmed our reservation, send me all the check in information and now they don’t want to help with the cost of finding alternative lodging. What do I do with this mess??
