So we can no longer respond to crazy reviews??

So I just got an absolutely ridiculous review from a guest who spent less than 8 hours in my listing. I went to respond to it bc I didn’t want it in my reviews without any response from me pointing out the BS. Turns out we can’t respond to BS reviews anymore. ABB gives us the option to send a message to the irrational guest (who just left a patently untrue review) to provide feedback directly to them. That does ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD when that fictitious review is still sitting in my queue, rife with ridiculous, completely untrue comments and being read by prospective guests.

How does responding to that (insane) guest help me? Rhetorical question... it doesn’t. Thanks for another fabulous “update” ABB. Not.

We can no longer reply to guest review?

Nope, I went to do just that, but there’s a new button you click on where it used to be respond to this review. The new button is “send my feedback”, and instead of your response being posted in response to the erroneous review, it gives you the “opportunity” to send a message to that guest in your regular message queue within your res. It’s no different than any other msg you send to a guest, and no one sees it but that guest. it does absolutely no good whatsoever. Thanks again ABB.

Do you still see this option to reply?

I'm still getting the old option to reply, which will  appear on my profile below the guest's review, same as you @Emilia42 . - I just tested it with the guests who left 4 days ago... Will be interesting to see if the format changes with my next checkout....

@Sarah978

@Helen350  You asked a few days ago about getting to the review page where you could do this- I assume you figured it out? I found it by a very convoluted process yesterday and was going to let you know what I came up with, but I guess you're good now?

No! - Two differents things @Sarah977 .

1) Lawrene explained why @Sarah978  could not respond to her unfair review, (because she hadn't reviewed herself.) I presume the rest of us who DO review can  still access the system, I think I can!

2) No, I haven't found the 'edit your own review within 2 days, providing the other party has not done theirs yet' feature! - It used to be easy to find, now it's gone!

- If you've found it, maybe create a new post we can all 'search' in future?!

@Helen350 I have this link saved in my bookmarks. What happens when you click it?

Thanks @Emilia42 - That is the page I was thinking of! - I'd forgotten the URL to go straight to it  (which I'd refered to others in the past) - now I've bookmarked it too!

- Strange you can't find it going from link to link...

@Helen350 That is the page I get when I click "Reply" to a review. It's from the old Airbnb interface (before they made updates) but it still links to that page. I am not convinced yet that you can't reply if you didn't review. It sounds like just the option in the email is gone.

@Helen350 @Emilia42  Yes, that's exactly the link I found. But I can't tell if I can edit from there because I don't have any pending reviews.

P.S. . . wow, those guests  . .  I wish you would have written them a review!

Is this true?  Does airbnb no longer allow space for a host to respond publicly to a review? Only to send private feedback to the guest?

Ok, so where I found the send feedback button is at the end of the email that with review from this tool. You used to be able to click that same button to respond to a review, now it just takes you to your message thread with that guest to provide feedback ”directly to the guest”.

You didn't review them, @Sarah978 ? That might be why you cannot respond. I understand that you can reply to a review only if you have reviewed the guest.
