Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well and are all safe 🙂
I just wanted to ask if anyone here has superhost bonus coupon that is going to expire soon and unable to use it due to the pandemic.
I have mine and is expiring on 22nd April 2021. Sadly in my country Philippines it is still lock-down, and obviously you cannot travel abroad because of covid. I requested Airbnb to extend the expiration date unfortunately they are sticking to the voucher policy that was implemented before pandemic.
Personally I am disappointed with how they handle my request, for the reason that since the pandemic started they keep on changing the policy and we as host partners were very understanding and flexible following and supporting it regardless if it means losing our revenue.
Please let me know if anyone here has some concern like mine, and maybe if we come together the Airbnb management will consider that we are only asking what we deserve and worked for.
Thank you,
Eeyhum
Hi everyone,
I'm glad to confirm there is an email going around extending the dates on Superhost coupons.
For those who are interested, you can read more about coupons and how to use them here. There is also a header talking about the extension and how to review the coupon. @Eeyhum0 @Victoria1204 @Sarah977 @Marg11 @Alan329 @Emiel1 @Dawn172
Thank you.
@Branka-and-Silvia0 "Here's your extended voucher. The only problem is, you won't be able to find it. What a shame."
@Sarah977 😄 LOL
I did use mine so I thought that's why I can't find it. But, I think, it should be visible anyway as expired or nonvalid or used. Now I see others also can't find their valid coupons so obviously, it's not just me and it's not because mine is used.
Ok, I found it on Account/payments and payouts page
Morning all
I saw the email this morning about the extension and checked our account but could only see a list of the ones we had already used. So I went back to the email and clicked on 'Claim your bonus' which took me to our account. Opened our profile and clicked on Accounts then down to Payments and Payouts and scroll down to Coupons. I think it was at this stage that I clicked on Copy Coupon on similar and then the new coupon was added to the list and available to use. This was all on my laptop. Hopefully this works for others.
Cheers
Jo
I had a reward voucher extended when I couldn't use due to the pandemic. However, when I came to use the voucher I was forced to cancel my booking as it was then illegal for me to travel out of the UK and also forbidden to entre France, where my rental home is. Now that I come to book again, a travel is looking more hopeful but still not certain of course, I find that Airbnb have cancelled my voucher. The reason? I had cancelled my previous booking. Of course I explained the circumstances but all enquiries led to "sorry, it's out of my hands, and I really sympathise". I think the problem is partly that many of us still view Airbnb as a benevolent, 'one-of-you-guys' type of organisation, kind of like it was reputed to be when it started, and it's not of course. I've just booked my travel accommodation with another company. Such a pity.
My superhost $100 bonus coupon expires December 31, 2021. Does mean to use it I have to stay in December, or simply book something, in a few months for example?
"Expiration Date” means: (i) the last day that you can redeem the Offer by confirming your next booking through the Airbnb Platform, and (ii) the last day that your next booking can begin (i.e. check-in must be no later than the Expiration Date). The Expiration Date is December 30, 2022 unless we specify another date through the Airbnb Platform."
No Judy.....or Gary. what is means is you must book a listing using your coupon before the 31th December. Your actual stay could be up to a year or more in advance of the booking date, but your coupon is deemed as being used at the time of booking.
Airbnb are 'Indian givers' when it comes to coupons though. I once booked a pet friendly listing for one night as part of our travels interstate and I used my Superhost coupon. We sometimes travel with our dog as our kids love to see her. Three weeks after I booked (using my coupon) the host messaged me to say she was no longer Pet Friendly! She had a guest who's dogs did a considerable amount of damage in her property and she had withdrawn her Pet Friendly status.
After weighing up the options I tried to cancel that booking and book with another pet friendly host but was informed my coupon could not be transferred! As far as Airbnb were concerned it had been used, whether I had actually stayed or not was irrelevant I had booked a stay using the coupon so it was deemed to have been used.
So, Judy, or Gary read the coupon conditions thoroughly, it could well be a coupon you have when you don't have a coupon!!!
Cheers........Rob
@Robin4 That's not what their policy says. It says that your check-in date has to be before the expiry day of the coupon. I posted the policy riight above your post.
