Superhost Statistical Outlier

Hi fellow Airbnb hosts,

I, like some of you, have just been screwed by Airbnb. Let me explain!

I have used Airbnb for 7 years now, with Superhost never being an issue. I have several long term bookings for my rooms  which has caused a decrease in the booking rate. I canceled one reservation because the logistics for the booking wouldn’t have worked, but it was a ding for me. Anyway, the one cancelation brought my cancelation rate to 1.57 (apparently one cancelation is actually one and a half to Airbnb). This has caused me to lose Superhost although I’ve had several long term guests which have paid Airbnb big money.

I’ve reached out to Airbnb foreign customer support, who have very little comprehension of statistical outliers and as you can guessed it, they can’t provide me with Superhost again. They could barely understand the issue at hand, one cancelation in 7 years that was my causing.

Anyone else get screwed by Airbnb for being loyal?

Does anyone else have another service that respects and favors hosts more? I’d love to compare ideas.

Thanks guys! And remember, if it’s Airbnb.. you’re screwed!

@Lance0 No one has been screwed here. The Superhost criteria are clear and measured over 12 months. If you canceled a booking then that guest has been let down and that doesn't match the concept of being a Superhost.

Oh and your issue with one cancellation being 1.57 to Airbnb is actually down to you not understanding that the criteria is a rate (number of cancellations divided by number of stays) expressed as a percentage.

Finally racist comments with respect to customer support do not sit well with many people.
