I don't want to believe but really got the feeling Airbnb used this program to tackle the news about disappointed hosts in the media. I cannot get in touch to get an explanation (tried really hard). Maybe it's a good if media in different countries take not a individual story but a story of the community of hosts and publish how we feel?

I think what is frustrating is that Airbnb haven't been clear about the criteria they used to select from a wide pool of eligible hosts.
