Thorwn , stolen and bad attetude of host

Hope everyone is doing great and doing well during in these covid days.

 

 

I had a very bad experience a year back where is had a long term booking through airbnb.

 

Me and my family faced a bad and racit attude of the host after some than i checked in the property.

 

By accidently a small fire happened in the residence but hardly i managed to handle it without major damage. I put my life there becouse there was no full equipments for fire fighting.  Fire alarm was ringing like crazy and no one was coming. The property we were staying whole building belongs to host it was 35 floor tower in the middle of the city.

 

Elevators was not working and reception was not working. Any way after a hour some guys arrive and check what happened and they went for sleep. Which was not normal practice.

 

Any ways next day some guys came from the host and check the property and offer us to move an other apartment and they said while moving they will assit us with all belongings like luggage kitchen equipments and personal items to move.

 

While moving they thrown or stolen my valuables cost of arround 70k usd. Which we realise after some time.

 

When we realise this the host cancel our rezervation and refund our money to our card and ask us leave.  Since then we are waiting reply from the insurance company. 

 

 

Unfortunately accept 1 email I did not recieve any single update since 1 year.

 

 

Is this a normal practice here???

 

If you can recommend smt to me to do. I can fallow.

In your statement, as you mentioned  and I thought you should,

  1. My family and I faced a bad and racist attitude of the host after some time check in to the property- first things, you should report to Airbnb, request Airbnb cancel the reservation, and leave the listing immediately.
  2. There were no complete equipments for fire fighting- you couldn't find the fire hydrants, hose reels, sprinkler system, water mist system........in the 35-floor tower building?
  3. Elevators were not working - you should never, never use an elevator in a fire 
  4. The fire alarm was ringing like crazy, and no one was coming...... 35-floor tower in the middle of the city- Where are the firefighter and ambulance? Do they never reach even the fire alarm activates in the massive building of residents' apartments?
  5. Some guys come- you may need to verify the person before letting someone go into the apartment, as you have valuable items in the home.
  6. Anyways next day, some guys came- again, you should ask who’s, are these people and why are you letting them pack and move your treasure without your concern
  7. Thrown or stolen my valuables cost of around 70k USD-  thrown away pieces of stuff are consider by accident? Or they have stolen your valuable. You should contact Local enforcement with evidence.
  8. The host cancels our reservation and refunds our money to our card, and asks us to leave- The host canceled your booking, make a full refund to you.Indeed, the host has paid the penalties to you.

You might  need to contact your lawyer about this incident because it is over a year and you may consider to reports to the police again, for futher investigation the case.

Airbnb may not give the support to your cases .
