Unethical cancellation?

I recently booked a month long stay at an AirBnB about six months in advance and it got cancelled about a month before the start date.  I recieved no notification from the host; only a refund email from AirBnB.  I noticed that I'm unable to message this host as their prior messages were replaced with automated "this person no longer has access to Airbnb".   I'm still able to see this host's posting but I'm unable to leave or even look at their reviews.  I only see a "error you do not have access to this resource" when simply trying to look at their reviews.  I'm worried the host "reported" me in order to block me from messaging them or leaving a bad review.  Is this a sneaky way for hosts to cancel reservations without negative ramifications to them?

@John6092 usually when you get the messages you have got it means the host has been suspended/removed from Airbnb.

I don't think there is a way for the host to cancel reservations without negative ramifications unless they claim extenuating circumstances. Also if the host reported you I would have thought that Airbnb would have at least discussed the issue with you before refunding you.

If you post the link to the listing we can see if we can access it.

@John6092  " I'm worried the host "reported" me in order to block me from messaging them or leaving a bad review. "

You wouldn't be able to leave any review unless the booking was cancelled within 24 hours of check-in date, so no, that wouldn't be a reason you can't access the messaging.
