Hello Nashik hosts, How about connecting?
Hello Nashik hosts, How about connecting?
I keep getting text messages that say, “Your Airbnb verification code is ####. Don't share this code with anyone; our employees will never ask for the code.”
Why? I’m not trying to log in or anything. I wish Airbnb didn’t allow the use of phone numbers as a way to log into the app (in which case you would get this message). Is someone trying to hack me? -Jack
We also received twice automated messages of a verification code we did not ask for. After receiving twice booking requests were we have been asked to contact a person via WhatsApp before booking, we are confused what is going on with our personal data. Changed also password, but still receiving these messages. Can anyone help?
I'm receiving these daily, reading the blog, I thought this would be sorted by now.
After I reported this here the texts stopped for 10 days, and now suddenly the last two days they have started up again. From the middle of the night to the middle of the afternoon. This is very disturbing and I wish Airbnb Security would do something about this ASAP!
@Tina14Mine have started again too! Same thing,---for the last two days. I'm hoping the FTC will hold @Airbnb responsible for their lack of action and horrible business practices!
I just checked the security on my account and a computer in The Bronx NY was logged in to my account!! I have changed passwords AGAIN for the 3rd time in 2 weeks!
@Tina14 Might be time to follow-up with the FTC and see what they can do.
I did file a report with them after it was suggested last week. I hope people continue to report!
Given that so many hosts are receiving these messages, airbnb's response, or should I say, no response is just pathetic. I've also been receiving them for the last few weeks. Collectively, we have made them billionaires so some support would be appreciated.
I just received another one while typing this message!
HELLO AIRBNB!! What is going on here? What is your response to this or suggestion on what to do?
@Roy644and @Nicky168 This is paradoxically, tragically-humorous; while all of us hosts are anxiously awaiting any type of response that brings resolution to this, @bchesky is busy promoting his new "Made Possible by Hosts" campaign. I've never seen a company figurehead more out of touch with the very backbone (hosts) of his company. Slow pay, no pay, and now a very probable data theft or data breech and all the man can do is run his mouth in true narcissistic fashion. Look at my right hand, while my left is stabbing you in the back! @Roy644 , I'm not sure what recourse you have in Australia, however, I would look into your privacy rights and where you can report a possible violation/exposure. Surely there is someone that can hold Airbnb accountable there just as there is here in the US.
I'm getting them daily as well and I agree that it's annoying. Anyone find out what the story is?
We have received an answer from a friendly Airbnb staff member. It's an error in their system sending the codes and they try to fix it. No need to worry or changing password.
Thanks for the update.
