What is the difference between tags and labels?

Hi everyone! I'm super new to the community and am trying to understand how to use it. Can someone help explain the difference between "tags" and "labels" on each discussion post? It looks like i'm only able to add tags, but how are labels added? Thanks!

I guess the software used to run this community is Lithium (now: Khoros)

@Diana1611  But you need to TAG Emiel if you want him to get a notification of your post. Type in the @symbol and a box with posters' names will come up. Then click on the correct name.

If the poster you are wanting to tag isn't in the box, just start typing their name and number, as it appears on their post, slowly, and then more lists of names will come up that you can click on.
