What’s Your Favorite Way to Unwind After Hosting?

Hosting can be rewarding, but let’s be honest.. it can also be exhausting!

Whether it’s answering guest questions at midnight, coordinating last-minute cleaners, or troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues, we all deserve some time to recharge.

For me, my go-to way to unwind is through Jiu Jitsu. There’s something about rolling and focusing on the technique that helps me clear my mind.

What about you? Do you have hobbies, pets, or routines that help you reset?

How do you relax and recharge after a long day (or week) of hosting?

Wow, small world. I grew up in the area and spent so much time on the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores, OB, Pensacola, Destin. Living in Utah is really a different life and we (roomie and myself) do all the cleaning and maintenance for the basement unit. Downtime is usually with the TV a bit louder than usual. Coco is a Chihuahua that keeps us company in our downtime. Our Orthodox Christian Church keeps us rather busy but we enjoy the time spent in our Parish. Shoveling snow and making sure the guests are safely able to use the stairs. Not much relaxing during the snow season.

Hi @Dylan143

Agree! Hosting can be exhausting sometimes. One way I balance it out and reset is by doing artworks it helps me release all that tension and recharge! Haha.

After hosting, my favorite way to unwind is to grab a cozy spot with a good book or some calming music. It’s always a great way to reset and relax after all the hustle and bustle of managing guests.

@Great question @Dylan143 . I did Jiu Jitsu with some girlfriends briefly as a teen so didnt get to black belt. Taught me one important lesson about falling properly though!

I usually reset with a glass of wine or if its early, some gardening. Sometimes only lasts about thirty minutes as my mind is usually thinking of everything else that needs to be done the whole time 😉
