We are alive, our flat where we live is intact because we are on the ground floor, but upper floors of our building have cracks in all apartments  😞

The city center is damaged the most because it is built around 1900 and that's where my mum lives and where our Airbnb apartments are located.

Our Airbnb apartments are surprisingly not damaged a lot, just a few cracks, fortunately... but my mum's apartment is damaged a lot  😞  We went there to help her cleaning the dust because she is an old lady and couldn't do that by herself.

She and many others don't have gas and electricity because the installations and chimneys are damaged. Due to corona  pandemic, nobody knows when we will be able to find all construction workers and painters to repair all the damage.

It is a pretty apocalyptic atmosphere, people with masks on the ruined streets, it is not pleasant 😞

Oh my goodness, I didn't hear about the earthquake, I'm so relieved to hear you are ok @Branka-and-Silvia0. It must have been super scary. If it's not one thing it's the other.

@Branka-and-Silvia0  So glad you guys are okay. Oddly enough, I just read a novel that is eerily similar to all that is happening now- not a world pandemic, but a worldwide tech crash. Which meant that everything that was controlled automatically, as opposed to manually, no longer worked. So, heating and water and electrical systems ceasing to operate, people hoarding and holing up and reverting to cannabalism when the food supply is interupted.

The novel is set in NYC, the main characters a group of 30-somethings. On top of the tech crash, there is then a 3 day snow blizzard. Like an earthquake on top of a pandemic. Take care, stay well.
