business account verification

Hi guys,

Airbnb is a great platform and I've always been happy with there service.

Unfortunately, since february this year, I don't receive my payout anymore. That is because I need to commit to this policy (although this is a help article):

https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/2577/why-do-i-need-to-provide-business-account-verification

Now a days, every company is collecting data and I really want to bring that to a minimum.

I value my privacy and I would prefer not to share these details. But apparently this is the only way to get payout.

Does anybody have experience with not sharing these details?

Am I the only one who does not want to share his ID?

Has anybody tips to still be a host and not provide additional Personal Identity Information (PII)?

Any reaction or help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Guido

That help article makes it relevant to accounts receiving over $15,000. It looks as though you hosted only 10 guests in the last year (if all your guests left reviews), so I was wondering whether you actually needed to have your account verified?

Paypal have a similar verification system for roughly the same value. It all seems fair and reasonable to me and will just be another way of securing your account whilst at the same time as preventing money laundering.

Self limiting your income because of not providing information seems like an 'own goal' in my opinion.
