email from Airbnb - pointing out hosting violations- when there are NONE

Woke up this morning to an email that sounded ridiculously high and mighty from Airbnb -

Host Standards violations identified include:
  • Cleanliness issues in violation of Airbnb hospitality standards
  • Misleading or inaccurate information about the type, nature, or details of listings, and/or not delivering listings as advertised
Reports are associated with the following listings:
  • A Chicago Home Private Sunny Chic, Roscoe Village & Wrigley

I have had ONE guest, a minimalist sort of person who left a 3 star review last year. The rest are all 5 stars and one, 4 star (again from an older gentleman - first time Airbnb guest who complained that 1 light bulb in a chandelier with 9 bulbs - did not light up)..

So what is going on?

This is so very wrong ... from Airbnb,  who use us and our personal homes as their partners.

A perfect example of misplaced trust and high handed behavior from a more powerful partner!

What do you all say?

Thank you in advance.

What do

@Aisha0 How weird. Does the apartment have it's own front door?

Yes it does. Separate entry - separately keyed...

But not sure what that has to do with a notification on "cleanliness" etc., 🙂

So sorry. I’ve felt similar shock from similar emails. Usually they come if I got a 3 star or less review. Keep us posted on what they’re up to! And most importantly thank you for putting your heartfelt words out here and hitting the nail on the head. You are EXACTLY RIGHT about the situation. This is Bizzarre, wrong, unsustainable treatment of hosts.

Thankyou @Mary419

I did make a call to Airbnb and heard that it was a "randomly" generated email being sent out to hosts based on the past year's feedback..."nothing to worry about"

So i pushed back wanting to know -

1.  How random is random?

2. How do you decide which host (s) receive the email.

3. If there is nothing to worry about - why go through the trouble of harassing , Super hosts with A Plus listings and making them feel bad - who I gather should be acknowledged as valuable partners.

"Please accept our apologies if we made, you feel bad. it was not our intention. This is a new process that we are experimenting with, and we will include your valuable feedback.  We will get back to you on this"

Needless to say - I am NOT holding my breath..... but will just continue to do my best to offer the very best parts of myself in a world that often in my opinion teethers on insanity - if not already insane 🙂
