guest cancellations

I have been having quite a few guests book longer stays as they get a lower nightly rate and then cancel their reservation before their stay is complete, finding any reason possible to cancel.  I am inclined to believe that this is a pattern that is being used to get better rental rates.  Has anyone else noticed this?  I am curious.

@Deanne52 another great reason not to offer discounts or long term stays!

The other thing I notice is that guests will reschedule their stay last minute to avoid cancelation penalties and then cancel the rescheduled stay for the full refund. That happened to us once.  We no longer allow stays to be rescheduled except in rare circumstances.
