@Alexander206 I would call Airbnb and ask for a refund - If you can demonstrate that the host never sent you check in instructions you should succeed. If however the instructions are clear in the listing ( I haven't looked) then you won't.

the only instructions were the streetname and number and on google maps is a 30 story house with no names at the door bell

@Alexander206  Considering that the room looks like a prison cell and has only 6 reviews, I guess low expectations are the order of business. Did your confirmation/itinerary include a phone number for the host?

phone was inside but no instructions that you need to call this number to get in

100% of my airbnb bookings i do with messaging

@Alexander206 I think I see what you're saying, but as a guest, if I arrived at the property and didn't know how to get in, my first instinct would be to call the host's phone number.

The host absolutely should have supplied all the information necessary to check in, without a doubt (one shouldn't take for granted that the guest is equipped with a charged phone with a mobile roaming plan) and for this reason I think you deserve a refund. I hope you're able to successfully get one, but Airbnb customer service these days is not very helpful. In the future, I do recommend that you make sure before the date of your stay that you have complete instructions for arrival and also a direct contact for your host - just for the sake of avoiding another awfully stressful situation like this.

Also, if you're new to Airbnb please don't take away the idea that all hosts are as bad as this one - take a closer look at the reviews and and photos, and choose ones that show more experience, more professionalism, and more attention to detail.

thanks for all replies - still no response from airbnb

who again is responsible - i guess the host is right ?! this time i take a lawyer im really sick of this airbnb complications poor host who now gets some additional fees

no time for this sh.

@Alexander206 Generally Airbnb side with the guest not the host. The Airbnb customer support is very poor at present so I can only recommend patience. A lawyer may sound like a good idea but I suspect will cost a lot more than you will get refunded if you are patient.

Some have reported that Airbnb respond better to approaches on Twitter - maybe you could try this.

Do let us know how it goes

@Alexander206   The room you booked, after added service fees, lists 14€ per night.  If you were unable to access the property on the check-in date,  you're entitled to a refund of 14€.  Where do you think you can find a lawyer who would charge less than that?

true

airbnb support until this day no f...ng reply
