You may have seen our recent announcement telling you what this is all about, however as a quick recap, this is a live Q&A for our global community members with a member of the Airbnb team.
This is very exciting as it will be the first time we run a live Q&A in the Community Center. During the event on June 19th you will have the opportunity to be ask your questions to Airbnb’s Director of Product; Donna Boyer.
Here is some information about Donna:
Donna, is a self-confessed product geek obsessed with building smart technology. Donna started out at Harvard Business School where she researched the global economic impact of technology innovations. For over 20 years, she has focused on how to empower product teams to bring beauty and outstanding user experience into the digital world, leading product at Hyperion Solutions, Yahoo!, RMG Networks, Callaway Digital Arts and Blurb. At Airbnb, she leads the product team focused on the host experience. In addition to being an Airbnb Superhost, Donna is a mother of two and serves on the board of Girls in Tech, a non-profit focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology.
So how will this work?
The Q&A session will start at 12pm, PST/ 3PM EST/ 8PM BST on June 19th and it will be last for an hour. As soon as the session starts, hosts from throughout the Airbnb Community can post their questions to Donna in this thread. Donna will answer as many questions as she possibly can with the help of our team. You can post questions in these specific languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish) and our community managers will translate the questions (when they are not in English) so Donna can answer..
This thread is closed for new posts at the moment and it will open for your questions a few minutes before the session is due to start.
I am sure there will be lots of questions, so to make it easier for everyone taking part, we have created some handy guidelines to make sure the event runs smoothly and to maximise the number of questions we can answer.

There was some test to check a case of planned interactions once, when I updated aisting, but it had no influence and is gone now I believe. I'd teally like to have that as a filter or at least indicated.

"What is the story with your case management team? The inability to contact these people directly, matched with a lack of supervisors on your customer service line mean anytime there's a problem on our end, we your hosts are waiting DAYS to WEEKs to hear back from someone. When we finally do there is no dialogue, in most cases a verdict has been reached and it's often based on inconsistancies sometimes even accounts are cancelled with no explanation! I hasn't happened to me on that level yet but it is very well documented in online forums and most recently in the main stream media. Have you guys considered what Uber is going through currently? It would be tragic if you weren't to fix this along with some other public service items...so my question....what changes are planned for the inefficient case management team and customer service phone lines? Thanks for your candid response and thank you for hosting this town hall for us : )"
How do you intend to help first time guests? we have many who has no idea how does the site works, the spirit of airbnb guests and homes ( listings) and worst, when they take it as hotels. I have had some like that expectiong child under 12 does not pay, services and luxury a hotel provides. SO they make up an excuse to cancel and get reembursed as we do not... so unfair... Is there any guests manual as it is to hosts?

hola; soy nueva anfitriona y felizmente abri mi casa para que las personas que vienen a Lüneburg en Alemania puedan pasar una o varias noches inolvidables. Note que mis huespedes les encanto el apartamento que les rente y estuvieron muy felices, escribi a través del chat para obtener la calificacion o los comentarios de mis huespedes y no se aun si no les llego mi mensaje o que paso! Me encantaria tener una guia de como hacerlo sin que se sientan presionados,

Hola María Isabel, soy María desde Barcelona, España. Los comentarios que escribes como anfitrión solo se harán visibles cuando ellos, tus huéspedes, escriban un review acerca de su estancia. Si ellos no lo escriben no aparecerá nada en tu página. Es difícil esta situación, es una de mis preguntas esta noche. Pues cuando tus huéspedes son "terribles" no aparecerá lo que escribas en su página. Así que seguirán iendo de un lugar a otro sin escribir y nosotros los anfitriones no podremos saber nada. Además nos quedamos sin la referencia que si que cuenta para aplicar a ser superhost, o ganarse los bonos que puedes ganarte.
A veces es muy complicado y por más que les pidas a tus huéspedes ellos no lo hacen.

My name is SARA, and I rent My Property in Italy, I have had Many Ideas for AIRBNB during these Months, as an Host and as a Guest, and I would like to talk about these Ideas:
1) Why doesn't AIRBNB create a Section for Women that travel alone//or that Want to stay only in a House owned by a Woman, you know to feel more Safe, I imagine that there could be a lot of women that would prefere that, and maybe they are shy or scared and they prefere to rent a place//room where there are only other women or where the owner is a woman, I really think that could Be Helpful for a lot of Women and it could make Easier the search for a House on Airbnb for the ones that want that,
2)It could be Useful to create a Notification (for example like there is in Whatsapp) that let Me know when the Guests have read the message, Many Many times I had to wait Hours and Hours sometimes without receiveng any Answer, waiting to accept a Booking or another One, so in the case I can see if My Guest has read My Message I do know better what to do if I see the Guest does not answer for a long Time//too many Hours,
3)Another Thing that could be Useful is to introduce the Function to Block a Contact (only for a personal property: for example the host ''M'' had a problem with the Guest ''B'' so ''M'' blocks ''B'' on his//her House, so ''B'' can Never book that House Again), in the sense that if an Host has had Problems with a Guest the Host can block him//her so this Guest in the Future cannot book again his//her House -This could work with the Instant Booking, that makes the Host see only after the Booking who is the Guest- Personally I have Never had Problems with any Guest, but I Guess this Function could be Useful for Many Hosts around the World that maybe want to be Sure not to have Problems anymore with a Problematic Guest,
4) I have had an Idea -as a Guest- about a Function about Groups of Payments, that Actually does not exist on the Website, Is it Possible to speak about That more Personally and Specifically?

When you solve the problem that many people in Italy have noticed about the grave inaccuracy of the location on the map of some ads? I have reported some houses from more than a year, all the competitors (for example homeaway and booking) have solved in a few hours or days while here the ads have not been corrected. If you allow me to show you an ad in a private message, I'm sure you will find an error of more than 2 Km just reading the description...or a review of a guest. In fact at least one of the reported ads has a negative review about the location on the map. Thank you again for your attention.
Can we ever expect that there will be a chat function on the Help Center? Are there plans to improve the search function to help direct questions to the answers already provided?
There was a chat function for a long time and was really practical, you could write your questions and circumstances once, precisely, prepare it and copy in and it would be visible when one help desk guy handed you to the next. It seemed to me a time saving feature. Must be cheaper principally than having several people listening to the same story over and over again.
Can AirBnB implement a chat line since sometimes it is a long, long wait to get someone to answer the phone. Weekends are nearly impossible.
Again, adding a field, that we can fill out, for the local city occupant tax would give our host an overall view of taxes. I have began doing this separately and they get confused.
I don't know if a lot of people are not doing it, but I want to be compliant in the case of a local audit.
I have reviewed other listings in Texas and no one seems to mention anything about local occupant taxes.
