Booking was confirmed without me being notified

I just got set up on Airbnb yesterday so not sure how this normally goes, but this morning received a long-term stay request.  We are in the midst of communicating about it when I receive a notice that I have a booking confirmed with someone else.  Why was I not prenotified this time?  I need to let them know that someone else asked first but the booking was not yet confirmed!

@Natalie183 You've got Instant Booking on. When the first guest inquired, you could have blocked the calendar for them. Since you didn't, someone else booked.

The first time someone tried to book I was notified though, and no settings were changed in the meantime?

Thank you Marzena - the first guest wasn't booking but rather asking if a month-to-month arangement could be made.  I see what happened.  I appreciate the help!
