Guest broke my couch but denies it

My last guest had messaged me during his stay that I need to get a new couch for the next guest. I asked what's wrong and he replied "I guess the last person that was here knocked the middle peg out from under the couch. Only discovered that today cause I was trying to sleep in the living room."

When I inspected the apartment before his arrival the couch looked fine so I didn't have a reason to touch it or check its legs so I don't know if he's telling the truth or not. But even if I did, I have no proof. Anyone have suggestions on what to do in this case?

@Jenny285 Sounds like something you’ll just have to suck up and replace. In the future make sure to throuroughly inspect all furniture and fixtures in between guests.

Can it not be repaired?

@Jenny285 Chaulk that one up to the ‘game’.

Get a $4 bottle of gorilla glue or a two cent wood screw and a drill and repair it.

If the couch leg is not shattered into pieces, try and fix it yourself. You’ll save a ton of aggravation and it’s empowering. Good Luck!
