Has any host has ever had an enquiry that made them feel like this person was stupid?

Has any host has ever had an enquiry that made them feel like this person was stupid?

Was wondering if there were hosts out there that received an enquiry and it came out as a list of questions which I don't mind if it helped clarified their questions but the one I received was.......well made me feel like he was stupid. I want to say sorry that was a bit mean, but I can't help it. I really think it is so stupid.

So I answered his question all of them and answered as well stating , "if you read my description throughly it would have answered your questions ...",  his response was thanking me for answering SOME of this questions. I answered to all them.

Again , my head started doing a little monologue to myself, stupid!!

One of his questions was do I speak english? (I live in an english speaking country and all my description are in english and so are my feedbacks, I failed to see how two and two wasn't worked out)

Does the place have a view of this place...?? (my place is not in the vincinty of that place and there is no pictures to provide evidence that it did, I fail to see how he would assume my place would when there is no indication there is such a view)

Is anyone staying in the apartment? (face palm, when a guest asks a question that already is very clear)

Is there any supermarket nearby? (again rolling my eyes, PLEASE READ THE LISTING with all the god **bleep** information on it)

How far is the nearest vegetarian restaurant? ( I don't know, sometimes you got to find out things for yourself)

Maybe I'm too harsh, but the last time I had an instinct how stupid the guest was (trust me he was, he manage to knock on the wrong door after buzzing on the right number, and failed to check out on time even with instructions) he caused me so much problems by moving everything in the house and my instincts is telling me , this one is a trouble maker if he is already so fussy about asking stupid questions.

Want a place with a view, find a place that shows that and dont' be stingy with the money you got to pay. If you want to be a cheap skate and give me hassle ,please do not apply.

I hope in your feedback that you point out their error. That is so important to have your say when a guest is indeed the silly one.

I once had a lady who complained how dirty the walls were.

She was talking about the emergency staircase of the whole apartment building.

I am not a cleaner for the apartment I am an owner of the place she is staying at, and that is my only responsibility to her. I failed to understand how she did not get that.

Oh I can definitely relate to this

Nothing like 2 stars for inaccurate location. Address, Google earth map all accurate but we were not where they thought we would be!

Hahhaha,

I would have gladly welcomed his money but tasteful state that it would be a long drive, but the choice is theirs to make.

Unfortunately in the land of common sense , I find when one is without, I get irritated so easily, then I have to really hit my head against the wall, breath then be my old sane nice self again. Till the next set of silly questions starts rolling in.

Yeah I get stupid questions, mostly about what is already in the details.

Some people are just TOO LAZY to read, pssss me off cos not one question from a guest it seems to go on and on with many questions from that guest, but most guests READ ok

  .... AND if you stop replying AIRBNB could penalise you for not responding.

Guest due to arrive from Singapore message to say they were cancelling due to the danger of bush fires to her 6-year-old daughter. Pointed out she was closer to Queensland than I was and how many hours flying time the NSW, Vic and SA fires were from us. She came.

@Dionne2

I got one of those early on when I first started hosting earlier this year. I decided to trust my gut and run for the hills LOL!!!

Henry and I decided then, we'd rather have an empty room than put up with an irritating moron of a guest. Any money we might make from hosting that type of guest is not worth it to us.

@Jessica-and-Henry0

omg, so happy you did.

I think I was just so irritated, he asked not just one but many and most of them did not make any relevence to the point of staying at my place.

He clearly wanted a view but he chose my apartment that had none. I just don't get this, and asking me if I spoke english I think tipped me over the edge.

I do stay well away from answering questions that are in my General Information; or answer them so unenthusiatically, with dull 'Yes' and 'Nos', they loose interest and simply go away. To me, stupid people usually turn out to be too high-maintenance.

I remember hearing of a large survey in which 99% of the people thought they were, without a doubt, above average.

That is the type of guest you want to avoid. When they ask questions that are clearly stated in your description obviously there's something wrong, and is not on your side. Usually they're not worth the money and your time.

Fred, look up the word hospitality because that is the industry you have chosen to work in.

I thought we were a Community

Being in the industry doesn't mean you can't voice your opinion and Fred isn't wrong on that either when he calls it a community as well.

For the love of god, stop throwing that commerical banality around like its a badge of honour. I know uber drivers who have kicked out rude customers, that arguement being in the industry is not reason not to have a voice.

What do you think we have unions are for!!

To protect those in the industry.

Here ,we have to look after ourselves and having a forum is one way of sharing experiences.

I had a guest text me to ask if the beddig was changed, because it looked like a head indetation on the pillow.  Didn't question that the bed was neat  I wanted to tell him to turn it over

@Fred13

Hahhaha to note for next time.

Though I think the whole **bleep** list of questions he had then finally asking me if I spoke english kind of did my head in.  That was a new one in this whole Airbnb experience.

And yes, I agree with what your survey reflects, I once had a guest who knocked on the wrong door after buzzing on the right one and still managed to check out late even when I gave him instructions. He claimed to be a doctor.

I worry if that was so.
