I have an inquiry where the prospective guest told me nothing about himself, his party of 4 and their reason for visit--business, travel, etc.  He has 2 verifications and no references.  I always require both:  reason/purpose of trip and references.  Do you do the same?

No, I do not. If the info is sparse, I strike up a conversation with them. I do not take last minute bookings for this very reason.  If I find I am unconfortable with the guest, I would need time to contact airbnb and cancel.
