Lack of verified ID

We are new to hosting and I have noticed that several people who have applied have been verified through email/phone/social media and government ID and others are just email/phone.

Any reason for this?

I find myself uncomfortable hosting someone who is only email/phone as these are easy to get and non-traceable.

Appreciate any thoughts on the subject.

Guests don't actually need much of any verification to request to book.   You can request guests to have more only for booking: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/272/can-i-require-guests-to-be-verified-before-booking

 You have Instant Book turned off, so you will have to vett every guest who wants to book with you, and anyone can send an Inquiry or Request to book, even with Instant Book.  https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/363/what-does-each-reservation-status-mean
