Please do not let anyone come look before the booking. This is a huge red flag as you will see from other posts on this forum. This is a security risk for you.Guests do not see your address until they have booked, only an approximate location which should be enough with the photos you post. Do they go check out a hotel before they book?  Politely refuse and if they choose not to book, that's okay. Others will come. Keepreading postings on here as this is a great way to learn how this all works.Welcome to the Airbnb family. Enjoy hosting. It is a great experience.

I agree . It is against BnB Rules . Someone coming to see your property could be looking to size it up for a burgalary, a porn movie Bit dramatic but you know what I mean) and your safety could be at risk by letting strangers into your home.

If you have lots of decent photos and a good description they will have all the informatiion they need to decide whether to book.

Politely refuse and ask them what information they want that they can't see from the photos/your description.

I can think of many reasons someone would want to see the place before booking:

1.  They are on a honeymoon...they want to make sure there is enough privacy for their special vacation

2. They've had bad experiences before with other airbnb's - they want to make sure they are not being scammed/tricked.

3. They have special needs, ie mobility etc and want to make sure the house can accommodate their needs.

4. They want to meet you to see if they feel like you are trustworthy.

Staying in someone's home is different than staying in a hotel.  I don't blame people for wanting to be very educated about the decision of trusting another person or family.

@Karin36  Please help to clear up the confusion set forth by you and your post......Am I to understand from YOUR post that you are advocating travelers to contact hosts to come preview a property BEFORE the actual confirmed booking?  I have read your post several times and it seems as if you are.  If you are not, I wish you had also said that to be clear to host/travelers who are reading your post. That is completely against the terms and conditions of Airbnb. (no matter what the reason).

I had someone ask me once if they could preview my home, and it was the fastest "decline" I have ever done.  Anyone who doesn't take the time to read the Terms and Condition/Policies of Airbnb as a host or guests, is not anyone I want to host.  EVERYONE should be reading everything so they understand what is allowable and what is not.  And this is why we have so many guests AND HOSTS violating these terms making it miserable for those hosts who go by the book.  This is what I have heard before.."well our other host let us do that...."  and my reply to that person was...."They are a violating host, AND I am a Superhost for a reason....because I do not violate the terms and conditions set forth by Airbnb.  Thanks fo reading and replying to me.  Aloha, Momi, Superhost in Hawaii #LiveThere

@Lela2 @Helen3 @Donna37   Thank you for your post/replies.  Well said.

If you feel that me or another host have helped you, feel free to click on the "thumbs up" button at the end of any post. Thank you so much.

Aloha, Momi

Great way to contact Airbnb or via Twitter at AirbnbHelp / Facebook

Hi Momi!  Read your comments.  To be clear, I'm not advocating anything.  I'm simlply saying I can understand why some guests would request a viewing.  Some travelers have special concerns, which may not always be easily addressed by a photo.  I've read your great reviews, Momi...maybe we will come stay with you sometime!  Dying for a Hawaiian vacation again!!!
