"verified" phone number of guest

Whats the deal with verified phone numbers. I dont under stand how (example) 123 4567 8910 could be verified?

 

The area code is kuwait

 

I am concerned now that I dont have nice people coming to my place.

 

Thoughts?

Don't quote me on this,

I read somewhere that airbnb only verify's guests who live in the USA, something about not having access to the overseas systems required to verify a guest from outside the USA.
