Advice for mortgages

We currently have a residential mortgage but we are moving out into a static caravan to work some land that we are purchasing.

we want to convert to property into an air bnb but we have just found out that our mortgage provider does not allow air bnb on a residential or by to let mortgage. My question is who is the best provider to go with at this current moment. Ive read i need a holiday let mortgage is this correct

Hey @Liam2676,

@Helen3's absolutely right. When using your property for short-term rentals like Airbnb, you may need a specific type of mortgage called a holiday let mortgage or a buy-to-let mortgage.

If it helps, Airbnb does have mortgage partners that offer specialised financing options for hosts. These mortgage partners can help Airbnb hosts navigate the process of financing their properties used for short-term rentals.

While specific partnerships and available mortgage options may vary over time, Airbnb has collaborated with various financial institutions and lenders in the past to provide resources and support for hosts seeking mortgage financing. These partnerships may include preferential terms, streamlined application processes, and specialised loan programs tailored to the needs of Airbnb hosts.

To get the most up-to-date information on Airbnb's mortgage partners and any available financing options, it's recommended to visit the Airbnb website or reach out to Airbnb's support team directly. They can provide you with the latest information and assistance regarding mortgage partnerships for Airbnb hosts.

Hope this helps,
Rebecca

Obviously it will depend on your location. An independent mortgage broker should be able to recommend holiday let mortgages @Liam2676

Speak to holidaycottagemortgages  - they are experts in this area and helped me out many times!

Holiday Let Mortgages are their own special type of loan, different from residential and different from Buy to Let. Most mortgage brokers don't understand them, so you should speak with a company that specialises in then, like Holiday Cottage Mortgages.

Good luck!

Yes, I’ve previously owned two properties in the Cotswolds, both listed on Airbnb via a holiday let agency.

I know the company very well and used them for a remortgage and I noticed a lot of posts about this issue on the forum and so I thought it would be helpful to mention them.
