I am a new host from Canada. I have a question for Airbnb deductions. If the occupancy rate is only 20% (80% of the time it is vacant simply because of no bookings), can I deduct all the property taxes, insurance etc, or only 20%. Thanks.
Thank you, @Mike-And-Jane0 and @Helen744 for sharing your advice. While you have the chance to speak with your personal accountant, I wanted to share with you an article that covers various aspects of hosting in Canada, including national taxes and regulations. You can find the article here

@Li78 in Australia it is not how many bookings you get but if you make the property available 100 percent of the year ,but as Lorna170 mentioned ,this is your accountant or tax persons job. Most centrtal tax agencies allow you to call and ask questions , we are hosts like you and each country has a different tax system.... H
@Li78 the specific rules are country dependent. In England the rules are being looked at but currently you need 105 days booked and 210 days available to be able to expense most things.
In the UK this is all available on gov.uk. If Canada doesnt make it easy to find you will need an accountant
