Airbnb is holding back to pay my money for my property for more then one week!

My booking is not PAID by airbnb, they make false promises for more then 1 week.

A guest booked for 7 days and extended for another 4 days.

This person [name]  that i spoke with on customer support of AIRBNB with the lowest IQ on ths planet, without wanting to give her full name, kept asking me the payout method. This is not written anywhere on the detail page: but just this:

Payout
10 nights room fee
******
Sat,02/22
******
Collapse details
Service fee
-******
Total (IDR)
Rp******

Well, I called last Friday, and send so many messages, they said, yes the case manager will pay me, since the could not get the money from the guest. Which is not he host responsibility. The host see the payment is verified and no the method or anything else.

If Airbnb is not able for whatever reason to get paid by the guest, then it is their responsibility to pay the host. The host is trusting the service and pays commission to airbnb for this service.

I need to say that Airbnb is holding back money from hosts since they can not manage their own  administration, or just basically stealing hosts money!

Hope this can be solved soon, otherwise I need to make the necessary steps through law.

@Dina542  'Payout method' means , Are you paid by bank transfer, paypal, whatever....

-When you clicked on the reservation, did it say 'Processing'? (In a little box?) If not, then Airbnb have not released the money. (Happened to me 4 days ago, I contacted CS & was paid shortly after, 24 hours later than usual. Don't know if contacting CS released money, or if a coincidence.)

- If 'Processing' appeared, then it's a question of how your bank processes if you're paid into your bank account.... Probably why the CS rep asked your payout method........

- If 'Processing' has not appeared, I would contact CS again..... Some reps are more skilled/helpful than others!

- (When my non payout put itself right, I messaged CS to say  'all resolved'. Someone phoned me the next day to check..... )

@Dina542 To check your 'payout method' - Go to your account page (- click your photo icon  top right -  click 'account' , 2nd on list, - click on 'payments & payouts'.)

I know this as I stated and this is irrelevant, they know its bank transfer, they asked payment method of the client.

@Dina542 Ah right, only you wrote 'payout' method'. When Airbnb use the term 'payout' they mean the money the HOST receives. Money the  GUEST pays is 'Pay MENT'.

@Dina542 Just re-read your post... Silly me, I missed that they say the delay is cos GUEST did not have funds.... YES, THAT'S TERRIBLE! I agree, Airbnb should suffer the financial loss, not you!

Indeed, I have kept my patience until today.

But it seems nothing happens. No followups. How to officially complain? Do you know this?

The case manager should be transferring the money.

If Airbnb can't get this payment from the guest but verified his payment given to me, then I heard the case manager is responsible, since hosts are not responsible if Airbnb can not manage their financial administration.

Thanks for any help.

I know what payment method means. But it is irrelevant, since they can see that I always got transerred by bank. She asked the payment method of the customer, not me receiving money from Airbnb.

No It did not say processing. And again, I called last Friday and they just told me airbnb can not get the money yet from the customer. And the case manager would pay this and will not take long.

In transaction history --> UPCOMING PAYOUTS i see:

Feb 23

Rp1,335,399.00

--*Name Client*--, Feb 22, 2020 - Mar 3, 2020
name propertyl
Bank Account •••••**** (IDR)

@Dina542  This Airbnb rep you are dealing with is indeed clueless if she is asking you what the guest's payment method is. How would a host know that? I'm not privy to the payment methods of my guests, that's supposed to be confidential information. In fact, if you were to contact Airbnb and ask for a guest's payment information, they would refuse to release it to you. I would suggest you tell this rep to close the ticket and call back and start over, in the hopes that you get a more savvy rep.

But indeed, Airbnb does sometimes fail to collect payment from a guest and seem to take the stance that that's just unfortunate and something the host has to accept.

Good luck.

@Sarah977 In the OP, @Dina542  said she was asked for the PAYOUT method, not the PAYMENT method.

@Helen350  " She asked the payment method of the customer".

Dina's post is indeed confusing, as she is mixing up terms. What is clear, though, is that Airbnb says they were unable to collect payment from the guest.

@Sarah977 @Dina542  "kept asking me the payout method." - In OP, but then "she asked the payment method of the customer", further down when clarifying.....

I think someone else who posted recently was asked the payout method?? - Maybe cos bank transfer takes 2-7 days... Hence my earlier reply about whether 'processed ' is showing...

But Yes, payment was not collected from the guest...
