Changing Cancellation polices in an inquiry

Hello, dear hosting community,

I have added a non-refundable option for a 10% discount in my listing. The issue is sometimes guests send me an inquiry and ask to book with the non-refundable rate instead of the refundable option they choose while sending the inquiry. Now as a host I don't have an option to do so. Could you please tell me if the guest has an option to do so?

Also if a guest wants to pay for the reservation with a payment plan then does he/she must need to book with the refundable rate?

Thank you so much for your help!

I would imagine they need to withdraw the initial inquiry and would need to resubmit the inquiry @Elizabeth2393

@Elizabeth2393  If you are referring to the option to pay half up front, that has nothing to do with the cancellation policy. And Airbnb doesn't offer that option to all guests on all bookings.

@Elizabeth2393 guests who want to pay over time when its not offered on the platform can use a credit card. I don't think it ever bodes well for an individual to start asking me about the cheapest possible option or how to put their vacation on layaway. Better for them to find something that is more comfortably within budget.
