Chicago short-term rental compliance

Chicago short-term rental compliance

Hi Airbnb community! I attempted to register my condo with BACP per the new Chicago ordinance, and my registration was denied. I am trying to confirm if I am still compliant with the city ordinance if I list for longer term stays but cannot find the exact definition of a short-term rental. I have two renters booked for 2022, each staying for 3-4 months; therefore, Airbnb does not require a Chicago registration number. That said, want to ensure I’m compliant with the city. Thanks for any help!

Hi @Katy415 ! Did you find any info about this yet? Since it's specifically about Chicago area, it might be worth asking in one of the local Host Clubs there. You can find them on this link: https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Get-Local/ct-p/en_clubs

I hope that helps!

I think this Chicago rule change means anything less than 32-night stays is deemed to be "short-term". My guests cannot book for less than 32 nights now.

This rule is BS and Chicago is going to lose a lot of tax revenue for this brilliant move.

I don’t understand why Airbnb “delisted” listings - they should have just made the listing 32 days.. anyone else finding the listing saying “delisted”?
