Hi @Carlos6062,

Have you already looked into the city's website to find more information?

I've tagged a few hosts who may be able to provide you with more information about taxes in your area:

@Amit42 @Miriam709 @Eduardo1560 @Gary1067 @Hosted-By-Bruce-And-Stephanie0 @Sandra7054 @Hieu890 @Joyce271 @Chris23298

In the meantime, you might find this Help Center article about Occupancy tax collection and remittance by Airbnb in California 👈helpful in finding more information about taxes in your area.

There's also a post in the Community Center about Calculating TOT taxes.

Hope this helps!

Hi Carlos, the TOT tax is assessed to all vacation rentals and hotels in Coachella Valley. The platforms don't collect and pay it on your behalf, but it's self reported through the City. You will need to report it and pay it to renew your license. You can pass it on to your customers by adding the additional tax on, I don't as it's pretty minimal and I don't rent alot. We are suppose to get marketing through the Palm Springs tourist guide, but that isn't happening really. That's all I know about it but you can find more info on the city website.

Thank you for sharing @Sandra7054

How do you handle the payment of taxes to the city? Do you pay the tax after each reservation, or do you pay a lump sum each year?

I pay monthly, for me that's the easiest way. Plus I think you will get a late fee if you dont!
