Yes. We missed that one email from Airbnb last fall, and had to search and finally found it once we received the fines. We don't understand 1) why Airbnb didn't send more reminders; 2) why Airbnb didn't force us to add a permit number to continue an active listing; 3) why Rev QC didn't send us a letter earlier telling us we had, say 90 days to get a permit or remove our listing; 4) why Rev QC is going after the little people for tons of $ instead of going after Airbnb, like most other cities around the world.

The whole thing stinks of questionable ethical and legal practices.

We are a couple that owns our home in Montreal and rents it out a couple time a year. We just received fines for each of us for a huge amount of money. Like you, no advanced notice or we would've done what was needed to avoid the fine.

What has been happening on your end? It's been a year for you and we just got the fines in July 2022. Did you plead not guilty? Are you in a joint action case? We are unable to pay the fine, so have to find a solution. Thanks!

I am in the same situation me and my son 7,500$ total 2 x 3750$ pleaded not guilty for both charges.  Wrongful accused.  Next court date August 26th 2024. I live in Vancouver and have done nothing wrong.  I rent long-term not short term rentals.  I canbe reached facebook william schermer or email.  This nonsense is going too far.
