Guest booking fees

Just saw this in my news feed:

If Airbnb is forced to abolish guest fees, host fees could soar. Given that it's acceptable to charge one party, they should abolish host fees instead, which is the lesser amount.

As far as I can see it is a controvertial matter, so far restricted to the Netherlands.
Moreover, the European Court of Justice recently overruled the decision of the Amsterdan court.
