High service fees are killing our Airbnb

Is anyone else struggling with Airbnb's high service fees? Our guests are regularly charged $100-200 in fees. It's hurting our business. People aren't booking. Is anyone else struggling with this?

Hi @Garrett-And-Allison0

How do you know it's Airbnb's service fees.

Many areas are suffering from over saturated markets coupled with falling demand .

If your market research shows your listing is very price sensitive then you could invest in setting up your own marketing channels and take direct bookings.

@Garrett-And-Allison0  Did you know there's an option for hosts to cover the service fee? I do it. I simply upped my price to cover it. I think it makes it cleaner for guests- what they see is what they pay, not including taxes.

And just FYI, I'd be more concerned about your cleaning fee. It's way higher than the AirBnB fees (for shorter stays). It might be a good idea to up your price to absorb some of that as well.

As @Helen3 asked, how do you know it's the AirBnB fees? The travel and hospitality business is dynamic. Fluctuations in demand, market oversaturation, listing capacity, inflation, weather- all of those things factor in. It's hard to determine what might be affecting your bookings.
