Potential guest without a name

Hello,

My name is Sandra.  My husband, Steve and I are new to Airbnb community.  We are really excited about this journey!!  We are located in Jackson, TN.  We had a few guest and so far so good.  We recently received a 28 stay request; however, there wasn't a name attached to the request , there was only a symbol and with the wording "translation on".  Has anyone ever received this type of request.

Hi Sandra,

Receiving a long-term booking request like that can feel a bit unusual, especially when details are missing or presented differently. Often, Airbnb conceals certain guest information until after the booking is confirmed, especially if the guest has strict privacy settings. The "translation on" tag suggests they’re using a non-English version of the app, which sometimes alters how names and other information appear.

A friendly message introducing yourself and asking about their plans could be helpful. It's a nice way to confirm details and gauge the guest’s intentions. For added peace of mind, you could also look at their profile for any reviews or check if they have ID verification completed, which is especially reassuring for longer stays.

Longer requests like this can be a great opportunity, so it’s understandable you’d want everything to be clear from the start.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

Upfish Management

Are 28 day stays normal requests for your property. I would suggest asking them whatever vetting questions you normally ask when considering longer stays to see if they are likely to be a good fit for your listing you can also ask them to update their profile with their name . @Steve4490
