Hey all, 

I'm Alex, a new host from Seattle, WA. 

Any advice about taxes for a new host? How much of an issue are taxes for hosts? 

This is my first year of hosting so  I haven't had to deal with them quite yet...

@Alex12990 Taxation for rentals can be tricky, and short-term rentals have different ramifications than mid- and long-term rentals, so a tax preparer with experience working in this area is a great idea — especially in the first year, when a depreciation schedule is established.
